A quick review of the TT Scale Handbook

The book is 124 pages of text and photos plus an index of TT manufacturers and suppliers. The book has 20+ pages of color photos of TT equipment, layouts, and supplies. There are at least 40 plans of equipment printed in TT (1:120). These are both standard and narrow gauge including plans for the Newfoundland Rwy Pacifics that were 3'-6" guage. 3'-6" gauge is N gauge and with Lifelike's announced USRA Pacific in N scale due out sometime this next year, you could be in TT narrow gauge in a hearbeat!

The book has 10 sections covering, among other topics, the history of TT, TT standards, the TT SIG in NMRA, Rolling stock, motive power, structures and track, as well as a showcase and list of TT suppliers and distributors.

This is a labor of love and it shows in the thoroughness and detail. I have only had the envelope open 20 minutes as I write this so this review is hardly complete.

TT Scale Freight Car Roof & Floor Stock.
Milled Poplar wood shape, 13 inch lengths of each, sold in pairs.  Enough for three 40 foot freight cars.  The floor is 1/4 inch thick so that truck screws will hold.  No sanding required.

TT Scale Ruller.
6 inch stainless steel, laser cut ruler.  Accuracy to 3 scale inches.  Rugged enough to be used as a straight edge.  US graduations.


 

TT Standards Gauge.
An NMRA type track standards gauge to check track, flangeways, wheels, couplers, and clearances.  Laser cut fron 20 gauge stainless steel.


 

TT Scale Guide.
This is a clear plastic, wallet size guide.  Carry it with you to check the size of figures, cars, and wheels at Hobby Shops, Train Shows, Flea Markets, and Toy Stores.
