ME!
Elmer McKay

I have been in Model Railroading for about 45 years. Thirty-five years in TT narrow gauge using N scale track, frames, wheels, trucks, and Kadee #308 under-the-track magnets (cut in half) for automatic uncoupling.  My main model RR is in Virginia, (TTn42).  I have a large standard gauge section under construction at the present time.  Scheduled trains are now running through on the layouts mainline using a CTI computer control system.  Yards and scenery are still being worked on.

The best way I have found to build a large model railroad is to build it in modules.  The modules should be towns and switching areas.  Then, when you have the room, set them up on the layout bench work, at the height you want, then connect them together with roadbed and track.  This allows you to build a layout in smaller more manageable sections.  It also allows you to do some modeling, not just sit and think about it.

I am also the designer and Webmaster for the web site ttscale.com.  I also like resin casting, photography, computer graphics, and am a computer hardware junkie.

This is me at my computer workstation.  I have two computers that are networked together.  One is for used for web surfing and email.  The other is for graphics and most other things.  I have a switch that allows one monitor, keyboard and mouse to be used with either computer.  The top printer (black) is my decal printer.  The other one is an ink jet.  Both systems are using Windows 98.
